Syed has held marketing and writing jobs for progressive publications and is currently Writer and Politics Editor at Brown Girl Magazine. Besides writing and editing, Syed has expertise in social media outreach. As a student, she has worked in a variety of progressive organizations and actions, informing us that her interest in the labor movement grew out of her experience as a steering member of United Students Against Sweatshops, including protests, marches, educational events and negotiations at the University of Texas.
